Common
Digital Camera Problems:
-
Lens damaged; won't extend or retract;
system will not power up.
This is normally caused when the camera is dropped while the lens
unit is in the extended position. The lens alignment tends to be altered,
thus causing catastrophic effects when the lens attempts to retract.
-
Lens won't extend,
just makes clicking sound. One of the most common problems with digital cameras with extending lenses
is caused when the lens attempts to extend while in a confined space, such
as a pocket, carry pouch, purse or suitcase. There is a very simple
way to avoid this; remove the battery when transporting the camera or
carrying it in your pocket.
-
Lens extends,
makes buzzing noise, then retracts with "Lens Error" message.
This is indicative of a malfunctioning focus lens which can be caused by
several different things, but is most commonly caused by an obstruction to
the focus lens gears such as sand. I DO NOT recommend attempting to
repair this yourself. This is a delicate process and inexperience may
cause your camera to not focus correctly even if the obstruction is removed.
-
LCD damaged / cracked
Another very common problem is caused when cameras are forced
into a tight space such as a purse, suitcase, briefcase, pocket etc.
The cameras LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is made of very thin glass.
It cannot withstand much pressure. You should avoid any excess
pressure and certainly any impact to the LCD.
-
"System Error" caused by internal
memory system failure.
Systems errors can be caused by several reasons. Occasionally, this type of
problem will occur due to electronic component failure and there isn't much
you can do to prevent it. However, there are reasons this can occur
due to user error, such as removing the memory card while the camera is
storing data; removing the battery while the camera is storing data or
disconnecting the PC interface during a data transfer.
-
Pictures
overexposed, washed out, and/or appear to have horizontal lines through
them. This is caused by a faulty or damaged aperture unit inside
the main lens assembly. The lens will have to be disassembled and the
aperture unit repaired or replaced.
-
Flash not working.
Flash failure is usually due to component exhaustion, however,
impact to the camera can cause circuit problems leading to Flash Failure.
-
Buttons not responding.
When the buttons of the camera fail it's most often caused by
liquid damage. There are some cases when impact etc. can cause this
problem as well.
-
Memory card interface failure.
Usually caused by a faulty memory card or CPU failure.
-
NP-20 Battery
won't charge, AMBER light just flashes on charger.
Battery is completely discharged and charger
won't begin charging process as a safety precaution to avoid excess current
flow. CLICK HERE for

Common
Watch Repair Problems:
1. Battery
replacement and RESET MODULE
2. Reseal/Pressure test
3. Band replacement
4. Case replacement due to damaged pin holes from excessive force from
band being pulled too hard.
5. Module replacement, if module functions fail, such as altimeter,
thermometer, compass, thermometer, camera, etc.
