Master Tim's
Casio Camera Troubleshooting Guide:

If you are having problems with your camera and you're not sure why, here are a few tips and tricks that might get you back up and running.

1.  Remove the memory card.  Sometimes a damaged, faulty or incompatible memory card can cause the camera to malfunction.

2.  Remove the battery.  If the camera is having issues related to memory or firmware, take out the battery for a few hours and try again.  This may give the camera a chance to reset.

3.  Reset the MENU to default.  If the camera is able to power up, access the MENU, go to Setup and choose RESET.

4.  Don't try to take it apart.  Unless you are qualified and have the proper tools it's not a good idea to try to take the camera apart yourself.  Leave that to the professionals.

5.  Be gentle.  Don't force the lens if it appears to be stuck.  Forcing a jammed lens will almost certainly cause more damage.

6.  Keep the camera clean.  These little cameras have very small mechanical parts within the lens assembly.  Keeping your camera away from dust and sand etc. will greatly improve it's function and increase it's life.

7.  Use the wrist strap or lanyard.  The most common problem is caused by dropping or bumping the camera while the lens is extended.  A wrist strap is a must at all times while shooting.

8.  Don't transport the camera with the battery installed.  If the camera powers up while stored in a pocket or pouch etc. the lens is unit is very susceptible to damage.
